Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 250 grams
  • Warm water - 150 ml
  • Active dry yeast - 5 grams
  • Sugar - 5 grams
  • Salt - 5 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Ground beef - 200 grams
  • Onion, finely chopped - 1 medium
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Tomato, diced - 1 medium
  • Cilantro, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Cover with a cloth and let it rise for 30 minutes.
  4. In a skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until translucent.
  5. Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned.
  6. Stir in diced tomato, cumin, paprika, black pepper, and lemon juice. Cook for another 5 minutes. Add chopped cilantro and mix well. Remove from heat.
  7. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  8. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 0.5 cm thick. Cut into circles or squares, about 10 cm in diameter.
  9. Place the dough pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spoon the beef mixture onto the center of each piece, leaving a border.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until the edges are golden brown. Serve warm.
