Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 200 grams
- Unsalted margarine - 100 grams
- Cold water - 50 ml
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cooked chicken, shredded - 150 grams
- Onion, finely chopped - 1 small
- Garlic, minced - 1 clove
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Chopped parsley - 2 tablespoons
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1/4 teaspoon
- Egg (for egg wash) - 1
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt.
- Add the cold margarine and mix with your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually add cold water, mixing until a dough forms. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, then sauté the onion and garlic until translucent.
- Add the shredded chicken, parsley, black pepper, and paprika. Mix well and cook for another 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 3mm thickness.
- Cut out circles of dough to line small tart molds. Fill with the chicken mixture.
- Cut smaller circles for the tops and place them over the filling, sealing the edges by pressing with a fork.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
