Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Unsalted butter - 100 grams
  • Egg yolk - 1
  • Cold water - 50 ml
  • Ground beef (Halal) - 200 grams
  • Onion - 1 medium, chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Tomato - 1 medium, diced
  • Bell pepper - 1 small, diced
  • Green olives - 50 grams, chopped
  • Hard-boiled eggs - 2, chopped
  • Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour and salt. Add the cold butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Add the egg yolk and cold water, and mix until a dough forms. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, and sauté until translucent.
  4. Add ground beef, cooking until browned. Stir in diced tomato, bell pepper, olives, cilantro, salt, pepper, and paprika. Cook for 10 minutes, then remove from heat and let cool.
  5. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  6. Roll out 2/3 of the dough on a floured surface to fit a round baking dish, then transfer it to the dish.
  7. Spread the meat mixture evenly in the dough-lined dish, then top with chopped hard-boiled eggs.
  8. Roll out the remaining dough to cover the top. Seal the edges by pressing them together. Cut a few slits on top for steam to escape.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
