Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 200 grams
- Unsalted butter - 100 grams
- Egg yolk - 1
- Cold water - 50 ml
- Ground beef (Halal) - 200 grams
- Onion - 1 medium, chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Tomato - 1 medium, diced
- Bell pepper - 1 small, diced
- Green olives - 50 grams, chopped
- Hard-boiled eggs - 2, chopped
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a bowl, mix the flour and salt. Add the cold butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add the egg yolk and cold water, and mix until a dough forms. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, and sauté until translucent.
- Add ground beef, cooking until browned. Stir in diced tomato, bell pepper, olives, cilantro, salt, pepper, and paprika. Cook for 10 minutes, then remove from heat and let cool.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Roll out 2/3 of the dough on a floured surface to fit a round baking dish, then transfer it to the dish.
- Spread the meat mixture evenly in the dough-lined dish, then top with chopped hard-boiled eggs.
- Roll out the remaining dough to cover the top. Seal the edges by pressing them together. Cut a few slits on top for steam to escape.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
