Ingredients

  • Sugar - 50 grams
  • Grated coconut - 30 grams
  • Water - 100 milliliters
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Cinnamon powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Fresh fruits (for garnish) - as desired

Steps

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the cornmeal, sugar, salt, and cinnamon powder.
  2. Gradually add the coconut milk and water to the dry ingredients, stirring well to prevent lumps.
  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and starts to pull away from the sides of the pan (about 10-15 minutes).
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the grated coconut until well incorporated.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased mold or bowl and smooth the top with a spatula.
  6. Let it cool at room temperature for about 10 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour to set.
  7. Once set, unmold the cuscuz doce onto a serving plate and garnish with fresh fruits as desired.
