Ingredients
- Collard greens - 200 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Red pepper flakes - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Wash the collard greens thoroughly under running water and remove the tough stems. Stack the leaves, roll them up tightly, and slice them into thin ribbons.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for an additional 1 minute, stirring frequently to avoid burning.
- Add the sliced collard greens to the skillet, and stir well to combine with the onion and garlic. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the greens are tender but still vibrant.
- Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Drizzle with lemon juice before serving. Toss well to combine.
- Remove from heat and serve immediately.
