Ingredients

  • Large onions - 2
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons

  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Fresh thyme - 1 teaspoon
  • Balsamic vinegar - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Preheat your grill or a grill pan over medium heat.
  2. Peel the onions and slice them into 1.5 cm thick rounds, keeping the layers intact.
  3. In a bowl, mix the olive oil, sea salt, black pepper, fresh thyme, and balsamic vinegar.
  4. Brush the onion slices generously with the marinade on both sides.
  5. Place the onions on the grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are tender and have nice grill marks.
  6. Remove the grilled onions from the grill and let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
