- Fresh thyme - 1 tablespoon (or 1 teaspoon dried)
- Balsamic vinegar - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Peel the onions and trim the root slightly, ensuring they remain whole.
- In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and thyme.
- Place the onions on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush them generously with the olive oil mixture.
- Drizzle the balsamic vinegar over the onions.
- Cover the onions with aluminum foil and roast in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, remove the foil and roast for an additional 15 minutes until the onions are tender and caramelized.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
