Ingredients

  • Dried beef (carne seca) - 200 grams
  • Onion - 1 medium, sliced
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Bell pepper (any color) - 1 medium, sliced
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Soak the dried beef in water for at least 4 hours or overnight to rehydrate and remove excess salt. Drain and pat dry.
  2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and sliced bell pepper to the skillet, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes until softened.
  4. Cut the rehydrated dried beef into thin strips and add to the skillet. Season with black pepper and salt. Stir well to combine.
  5. Cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beef is heated through and slightly crispy.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
