Ingredients
- Beef (flank steak) - 500 grams
- Garlic powder - 2 teaspoons
- Onion powder - 2 teaspoons
- Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh parsley (chopped) - 2 tablespoons (for garnish)
Steps
- Begin by preparing the beef: trim any excess fat from the flank steak and slice it into thin strips, about 1 cm thick.
- In a bowl, mix together garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper.
- Rub the spice mixture all over the beef strips, ensuring they are evenly coated.
- In a shallow dish, combine olive oil and lemon juice, then add the seasoned beef strips, coating them well.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight for best flavor.
- After marinating, preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Remove the beef from the marinade and let any excess liquid drip off. Discard the marinade.
- Grill the beef strips for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they develop a nice char and are cooked to your desired doneness.
- Once grilled, remove the beef from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- Serve the Carne Seca garnished with fresh chopped parsley.
