Ingredients

  • Beef (flank steak) - 500 grams
  • Garlic powder - 2 teaspoons
  • Onion powder - 2 teaspoons
  • Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh parsley (chopped) - 2 tablespoons (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Begin by preparing the beef: trim any excess fat from the flank steak and slice it into thin strips, about 1 cm thick.
  2. In a bowl, mix together garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Rub the spice mixture all over the beef strips, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  4. In a shallow dish, combine olive oil and lemon juice, then add the seasoned beef strips, coating them well.
  5. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight for best flavor.
  6. After marinating, preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  7. Remove the beef from the marinade and let any excess liquid drip off. Discard the marinade.
  8. Grill the beef strips for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they develop a nice char and are cooked to your desired doneness.
  9. Once grilled, remove the beef from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  10. Serve the Carne Seca garnished with fresh chopped parsley.
