Ingredients
- Picanha beef - 400 grams
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cheddar cheese - 100 grams
- Burger buns - 2 pieces
- Lettuce - 2 leaves
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Start by finely chopping the picanha beef into small pieces or grinding it in a meat grinder.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped picanha with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well until fully incorporated.
- Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties, approximately 2 cm thick.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the burger patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- In the last minute of cooking, place the cheddar cheese on top of the patties and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
- While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns in another skillet or on a grill.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise on the bottom half of the bun, adding a lettuce leaf, the cooked picanha patty with melted cheese, and a slice of tomato on top. Finish with the top half of the bun.
- Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
