- Young green jackfruit - 200 grams, cooked and shredded
- Cooked quinoa - 100 grams
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Whole wheat burger buns - 2
- Lettuce - 2 leaves
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Avocado - 1/2, sliced
Steps
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until translucent.
- Add the shredded jackfruit to the skillet and stir in the cooked quinoa, soy sauce, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the mixture from heat and stir in the chopped cilantro. Let it cool slightly.
- Form the jackfruit mixture into two patties.
- In the same skillet, cook the patties over medium heat for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Toast the whole wheat burger buns lightly on the skillet.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun, adding the patty, and topping it with sliced tomato and avocado. Close with the top bun.
