Ingredients
- Broccoli - 300 grams, cut into florets
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Red pepper flakes - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the broccoli florets and blanch for 2-3 minutes until bright green and slightly tender.
- Drain the broccoli and place it in a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Once cooled, drain again and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Add the blanched broccoli to the skillet, tossing it with the garlic. Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
- Sauté the broccoli for an additional 3-4 minutes, allowing it to absorb the garlic flavor.
- Remove from heat and drizzle with lemon juice before serving.
