- Linguiça sausage (smoked or fresh) - 200 grams, sliced

- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Bell pepper (red or yellow) - 1, diced
- Chicken broth - 400 ml
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- Heat the olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the sliced linguiça sausage and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove the sausage from the pan and set aside, leaving the drippings in the pan.
- In the same pan, add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and diced bell pepper, cooking for another 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the rice to the pan, stirring to coat with the oil and vegetables, and toast for about 2 minutes.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.
- Once done, fluff the rice with a fork and stir in the cooked linguiça sausage and chopped parsley.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste before serving.
