- Basmati rice - 150 grams
- Beef brisket, kosher - 200 grams, diced
- Onion - 1 medium, chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Bell pepper - 1 medium, diced
- Tomato - 1 medium, diced
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Bay leaf - 1
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Water - 450 milliliters
Steps
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced beef and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the diced bell pepper, tomato, paprika, cumin, bay leaf, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes until the vegetables soften.
- Add the basmati rice to the skillet and stir to combine it with the beef and vegetables.
- Pour in the water and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for about 20 minutes or until the rice has absorbed all the liquid.
- Remove the bay leaf, fluff the rice with a fork, and stir in the chopped parsley before serving.
