Ingredients

  • Bone-in ham steak - 450 grams
  • Pure Vermont maple syrup - 60 ml
  • Dijon mustard - 1 tablespoon
  • Apple cider vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Ground black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ground cinnamon - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Butter - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. In a small bowl, combine the maple syrup, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, black pepper, garlic powder, and ground cinnamon to create the glaze.
  3. Place the ham steak in a baking dish and pour half of the glaze over it, ensuring it's well-coated.
  4. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  5. Remove the foil, brush the ham with the remaining glaze, and return it to the oven, uncovered, for an additional 10 minutes, or until heated through and caramelized.
  6. Meanwhile, melt the butter in a small skillet over medium heat.
  7. Once melted, add any remaining glaze to the skillet and bring to a simmer for about 2-3 minutes to thicken slightly.
  8. Remove the ham from the oven, let it rest for a few minutes, then slice and serve drizzled with the thickened glaze.
