- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Lettuce leaves (Romaine or Iceberg) - 4 large leaves
- Tomato - 1 medium, diced
- Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
- Cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Lime - 1, cut into wedges
Steps
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet, sautéing until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground venison. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the cumin, chili powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until the spices are fragrant.
- Remove the skillet from heat and prepare the lettuce leaves as taco shells.
- Assemble the tacos by placing the venison mixture into each lettuce leaf, then top with diced tomato, avocado slices, and chopped cilantro.
- Serve with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the tacos.
