Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 200 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Corn tortillas - 4 pieces
  • Red cabbage - 100 grams, shredded
  • Cherry tomatoes - 100 grams, halved
  • Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
  • Fresh cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Lime - 1, cut into wedges
  • Salt - to taste
  • Pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into small cubes.
  2. In a bowl, mix olive oil, soy sauce, ground cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add the tofu cubes to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for 10 minutes.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add the marinated tofu cubes. Cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden and crispy.
  5. While the tofu cooks, prepare the toppings: shred the red cabbage, halve the cherry tomatoes, and slice the avocado.
  6. Warm the corn tortillas in a separate skillet for about 1-2 minutes on each side until pliable.
  7. Assemble the tacos by placing a portion of the cooked tofu in each tortilla and topping with shredded cabbage, cherry tomatoes, avocado slices, and chopped cilantro.
  8. Serve with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the tacos.
