Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 1 cup
- Water - 1/4 cup
- Firm tofu - 150 grams, crumbled
- Shiitake mushrooms - 100 grams, finely chopped
- Carrot - 1 medium, grated
- Green onions - 2, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons (for frying)
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and water to form a dough. Knead it for about 5 minutes until smooth, then cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- In a skillet over medium heat, add the sesame oil and sauté the garlic and ginger for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the chopped shiitake mushrooms, grated carrot, and crumbled tofu. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until the mushrooms are tender.
- Stir in the soy sauce, chopped green onions, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat and let the filling cool slightly.
- Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and roll each piece into a thin circle, about 3 inches in diameter.
- Place 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal.
- In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Place the potstickers in the skillet and fry for 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
- Add 1/4 cup of water to the skillet and cover immediately. Steam the potstickers for about 5-7 minutes until the water has evaporated.
- Remove the lid and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to crisp the bottoms. Serve hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
