  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Toasted coconut flakes - 2 tablespoons (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, coconut milk, water, salt, and sugar. Stir to mix well.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to low and cover the saucepan with a lid.
