- maple syrup - 30 ml
- unsweetened applesauce - 30 grams
- coconut oil - 20 grams, melted
- vanilla extract - 5 ml
- baking powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- salt - a pinch
- walnuts - 20 grams, chopped (optional)
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a small baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the melted coconut oil, maple syrup, applesauce, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- If desired, fold in the chopped walnuts for added texture.
- Spread the brownie batter evenly in the prepared baking dish.
