- Heavy cream - 250 ml
- Whole milk - 100 ml
- Granulated sugar - 50 grams
- Vanilla bean - 1 (split and seeds scraped)
- Gelatin powder - 2 grams
- Cold water - 15 ml
Steps
- In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin powder over the cold water and let it bloom for about 5 minutes.
- In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar. Add the vanilla bean seeds and the split pod to the mixture.
- Heat the cream mixture over medium heat until it is hot but not boiling, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until fully dissolved.
- Remove the vanilla pod and pour the mixture into two serving molds or cups.
- Let the panna cotta cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
- To serve, gently run a knife around the edges of the panna cotta, then invert onto a plate or serve directly in the cups.
