Ingredients

  • ground turkey - 400 grams
  • garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
  • olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • whole wheat burger buns - 2
  • leafy greens (e.g., spinach or lettuce) - 1 cup
  • tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • avocado - 1/2, sliced
  • mustard - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, garlic powder, onion powder, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and cumin. Mix until just combined.
  2. Divide the turkey mixture into two equal portions and shape each into a patty about 2.5 cm thick.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the turkey patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 74°C.
  4. While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the whole wheat burger buns on a separate skillet or in a toaster.
  5. Assemble the burgers by placing the cooked turkey patty on the bottom half of each bun. Top with leafy greens, tomato slices, avocado, and a dollop of mustard.
  6. Cover with the top half of the bun, serve immediately, and enjoy your healthy turkey burgers!
