- garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
- olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- whole wheat burger buns - 2
- leafy greens (e.g., spinach or lettuce) - 1 cup
- tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- avocado - 1/2, sliced
- mustard - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, garlic powder, onion powder, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and cumin. Mix until just combined.
- Divide the turkey mixture into two equal portions and shape each into a patty about 2.5 cm thick.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the turkey patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 74°C.
- While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the whole wheat burger buns on a separate skillet or in a toaster.
- Assemble the burgers by placing the cooked turkey patty on the bottom half of each bun. Top with leafy greens, tomato slices, avocado, and a dollop of mustard.
