Ingredients

  • Ground turkey - 500 grams
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Whole grain burger buns - 2
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Tomato, sliced - 1 medium
  • Red onion, sliced - 1/2 small
  • Avocado, sliced - 1/2
  • Mustard - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley. Mix until just combined.
  2. Form the mixture into 2 equal patties, about 2 cm thick.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the turkey patties and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 74°C.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the burger buns by toasting them lightly on a separate pan or in a toaster.
  5. Assemble the burgers: place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, add the turkey patty, top with tomato slices, red onion, and avocado.
  6. Spread mustard on the top half of the bun and place it on top of the assembled burger.
  7. Serve immediately with your choice of side.
