- Tomatoes - 300g, sliced
- Fresh basil leaves - 15g, chopped
- Mozzarella cheese - 100g, sliced
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Balsamic glaze - for drizzling (optional)
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to fit a 20cm (8-inch) tart pan, trimming the edges as needed.
- Transfer the pastry to the tart pan, pressing it into the edges and pricking the bottom with a fork to prevent bubbling.
- In a small bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper, then brush the mixture evenly over the pastry.
- Layer the sliced tomatoes on top of the puff pastry, slightly overlapping them.
- Sprinkle the chopped basil and arrange the mozzarella slices over the tomatoes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
