Ingredients
- Firm tofu - 300 grams
- Corn tortillas - 4 pieces
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Ground cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Red cabbage - 100 grams, shredded
- Carrot - 1 medium, grated
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Avocado - 1 small, sliced
- Greek yogurt or vegan alternative - 3 tablespoons
- Hot sauce (optional) - to taste
Steps
- Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into thick strips.
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, soy sauce, lime juice, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
- Add the tofu strips to the marinade and let them soak for at least 10 minutes.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add the marinated tofu strips. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
- While the tofu cooks, prepare the slaw by combining shredded red cabbage, grated carrot, and chopped cilantro in a bowl. Add lime juice, salt, and mix well.
- Warm the corn tortillas in a separate skillet for about 30 seconds on each side.
- Assemble the tacos by placing a few pieces of crispy tofu on each tortilla, topping with the slaw, avocado slices, and a drizzle of Greek yogurt or vegan alternative. Add hot sauce if desired.
- Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.
