  • brown sugar - 2 tablespoons
  • black pepper - 1 tablespoon
  • kosher salt - 1 tablespoon
  • garlic powder - 1 tablespoon
  • onion powder - 1 tablespoon
  • cayenne pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • mustard powder - 1 teaspoon
  • apple cider vinegar - 100 ml
  • beef broth - 250 ml
  • aluminum foil - for wrapping

Steps

  1. Preheat your smoker or grill to 110°C (225°F).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together smoked paprika, brown sugar, black pepper, kosher salt, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and mustard powder to create a rub.
  3. Rub the spice mixture evenly over the brisket, ensuring all sides are coated. Let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  4. Place the brisket in the smoker or on the grill, fat side up, and cook for 6-8 hours, maintaining a consistent temperature.
  5. Every hour, spritz the brisket with a mixture of apple cider vinegar and beef broth to keep it moist.
  6. Once the internal temperature of the brisket reaches 90°C (195°F), remove it from the smoker and wrap it tightly in aluminum foil.
  7. Let the wrapped brisket rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing against the grain and serving.
