Ingredients
- Salmon fillets - 250 grams
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Honey or sugar substitute - 1 tablespoon
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Lettuce leaves (for wrapping) - 4 large
- Green onions - 2, sliced
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey (or sugar substitute), rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and sesame oil to make the teriyaki sauce.
- Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Place the salmon fillets in the skillet, skin-side down, and pour half of the teriyaki sauce over the fillets.
- Cook the salmon for 4-5 minutes, then carefully flip and pour the remaining teriyaki sauce over the top. Cook for another 4-5 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- While the salmon is cooking, prepare the lettuce leaves as burger wraps and slice green onions for garnish.
- Once the salmon is done, remove it from the skillet and let it rest for a minute. Flake the salmon into large pieces.
- To assemble, place a generous amount of flaked salmon in each lettuce wrap, sprinkle with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, then fold the lettuce around the filling.
