Ingredients

  • Salmon fillets - 2 (150g each)
  • Soy sauce - 60ml
  • Honey - 30ml
  • Rice vinegar - 15ml
  • Fresh ginger, grated - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic, minced - 1 clove
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Cooked brown rice - 200g (for serving)
  • Steamed broccoli - 200g (for serving)

Steps

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, grated ginger, minced garlic, and sesame oil to create the teriyaki marinade.
  2. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour half of the teriyaki marinade over them. Let them marinate for about 10 minutes.
  3. Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Remove the salmon from the marinade and place them skin-side down in the hot skillet.
  4. Cook the salmon for about 4-5 minutes on each side, basting with the remaining marinade during the last minute of cooking.
  5. Once cooked through and flaky, remove the salmon from the skillet and let it rest for a minute.
  6. Serve the teriyaki salmon over cooked brown rice, topped with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, alongside steamed broccoli.
