Ingredients
- Salmon fillets - 2 pieces (150g each)
- Soy sauce (kosher) - 60ml
- Brown sugar - 2 tablespoons (30g)
- Mirin - 2 tablespoons (30ml)
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon (15ml)
- Garlic, minced - 1 clove
- Ginger, grated - 1 teaspoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Green onions, chopped - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- Pepper - to taste
Steps
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, mirin, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil to create the teriyaki marinade.
- Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour half of the teriyaki marinade over them, reserving the other half for glazing. Marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking.
- Remove the salmon from the marinade and season with salt and pepper.
- Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes.
- Carefully flip the salmon and brush the top with the reserved teriyaki marinade. Grill for an additional 4-5 minutes or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
