Ingredients

  • Pork ribs - 1 kg
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Brown sugar - 100 grams
  • Paprika - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Cayenne pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Apple cider vinegar - 60 ml
  • Tomato paste - 120 grams
  • Honey - 2 tablespoons
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Mustard - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).
  2. In a bowl, mix the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper to create a dry rub.
  3. Rub the mixture all over the pork ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  4. Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, cover tightly with foil, and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 hours.
  5. While the ribs are baking, prepare the barbecue sauce by combining apple cider vinegar, tomato paste, honey, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard in a saucepan over medium heat.
  6. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens slightly.
  7. After 2.5 hours, remove the ribs from the oven and increase the temperature to 220°C (425°F).
  8. Brush the ribs generously with the barbecue sauce and return them to the oven uncovered for an additional 30 minutes, basting with more sauce halfway through.
  9. Once done, remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
