Ingredients

  • Large white mushrooms - 8 pieces
  • Italian sausage (casings removed) - 200 grams
  • Cream cheese - 100 grams
  • Parmesan cheese (grated) - 30 grams
  • Garlic (minced) - 1 clove
  • Fresh parsley (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth and remove the stems, setting them aside.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Add the Italian sausage to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon, and cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Chop the reserved mushroom stems and add them to the skillet, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  6. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage mixture with cream cheese, grated Parmesan, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  7. Stuff each mushroom cap generously with the sausage and cheese mixture, packing it in firmly.
  8. Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender and the tops are golden brown.
