- 2 large bell peppers - any color
- 250 grams ground turkey
- 100 grams shredded mozzarella cheese
- 50 grams diced onion
- 2 cloves garlic - minced
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- 2 tablespoons tomato sauce
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).
- Slice the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent.
- Add the ground turkey to the skillet, cooking until browned and fully cooked. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
- Stir in the tomato sauce and half of the shredded mozzarella cheese into the turkey mixture until well combined.
- Stuff each bell pepper with the turkey and cheese mixture, packing it tightly.
- Place the stuffed peppers in a baking dish and top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
