Ingredients

  • 2 large bell peppers - any color
  • 250 grams ground turkey
  • 100 grams shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 50 grams diced onion
  • 2 cloves garlic - minced
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • 2 tablespoons tomato sauce

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. Slice the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent.
  4. Add the ground turkey to the skillet, cooking until browned and fully cooked. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Stir in the tomato sauce and half of the shredded mozzarella cheese into the turkey mixture until well combined.
  6. Stuff each bell pepper with the turkey and cheese mixture, packing it tightly.
  7. Place the stuffed peppers in a baking dish and top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
  8. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
