- Sirloin steak - 300 grams
- Bell peppers (mixed colors) - 150 grams
- Red onion - 100 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Whole wheat tortillas - 4 pieces
- Fresh cilantro (for garnish) - 10 grams
Steps
- Slice the sirloin steak into thin strips across the grain.
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, lime juice, garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
- Add the steak strips to the marinade, coating them well. Let them marinate for at least 10 minutes.
- While the steak is marinating, slice the bell peppers and red onion into thin strips.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a tablespoon of olive oil.
- Once the oil is hot, add the marinated steak strips to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes until browned and cooked through.
- Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add the remaining oil and the sliced bell peppers and onions.
- Sauté the vegetables for about 5-7 minutes until they are tender and slightly caramelized.
- Return the cooked steak to the skillet, mixing it with the sautéed vegetables. Cook for an additional minute to combine flavors.
- Warm the whole wheat tortillas in a separate pan or microwave.
- Serve the steak and vegetable mixture in the tortillas, garnished with fresh cilantro.
