Ingredients

  • Shrimp - 300 grams, peeled and deveined
  • Sriracha sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Breadcrumbs - 1/4 cup
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon zest - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon (for cooking)
  • Whole grain burger buns - 2
  • Avocado - 1, sliced
  • Cucumber - 1/2, thinly sliced
  • Lettuce - 2 leaves
  • Lime - 1, for squeezing

Steps

  1. In a food processor, combine the shrimp, Sriracha sauce, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, lemon zest, salt, and black pepper. Pulse until the mixture is well combined but still slightly chunky.
  2. Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the shrimp patties and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the burger buns by toasting them lightly in a separate pan or toaster.
  5. Assemble the burgers by placing a shrimp patty on the bottom half of each bun, topped with avocado slices, cucumber, and lettuce. Squeeze fresh lime juice over the top before adding the bun lid.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy your spicy Sriracha shrimp burgers!
