Ingredients
- Cauliflower - 1 medium head (about 600 grams)
- All-purpose flour - 1/2 cup (60 grams)
- Cornstarch - 1/4 cup (30 grams)
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Water - 3/4 cup (180 ml)
- Sriracha sauce - 1/4 cup (60 ml)
- Vegetable oil - for frying
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) if you prefer baking, or heat vegetable oil in a deep pan for frying.
- Wash and cut the cauliflower into bite-sized florets.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Gradually add water to the dry ingredients, whisking until a smooth batter forms.
- Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, ensuring it's well-coated, then place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper if baking.
- If frying, carefully place the coated florets into the hot oil, frying in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per batch.
- If baking, place the coated florets in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until crispy and golden, flipping halfway through.
- While the cauliflower is cooking, mix the Sriracha sauce with a tablespoon of vegetable oil in a bowl.
- Once the cauliflower is cooked, toss it in the Sriracha mixture until evenly coated.
- Serve hot, garnished with green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
