- Fresh spinach - 200 grams
- Feta cheese - 100 grams, crumbled
- Puff pastry - 1 sheet (approximately 250 grams)
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Egg - 1, beaten (for egg wash)
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Nutmeg - a pinch
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until soft, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Add the fresh spinach to the skillet and cook until wilted, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the wilted spinach mixture with crumbled feta cheese, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg. Mix well.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into squares (approximately 10 cm x 10 cm each).
- Place a spoonful of the spinach and feta mixture in the center of each pastry square.
- Fold the pastry over to form a triangle and press the edges to seal. You can crimp the edges with a fork for a decorative touch.
- Brush the tops of the pies with the beaten egg to give them a golden color when baked.
- Place the pies on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
