  • ground lamb - 400 grams
  • garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • fresh ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • cayenne pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • salt - 1 teaspoon
  • black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • hamburger buns - 2
  • lettuce leaves - 2
  • tomato - 1, sliced
  • red onion - 1/2, thinly sliced
  • yogurt or tzatziki sauce - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, minced garlic, grated ginger, cayenne pepper, cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties, about 2.5 cm thick.
  3. Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil.
  4. Once hot, place the lamb patties in the pan and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 70°C.
  5. While the patties are cooking, toast the hamburger buns in a separate pan until golden brown.
