Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 400 grams
  • Jalapeños - 2, sliced
  • Avocado - 1, ripe
  • Lime - 1, juiced
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Whole wheat burger buns - 2
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Tomato - 1, sliced

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined and shape into 2 equal patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  3. While the patties are cooking, prepare the avocado sauce by mashing the avocado in a small bowl and mixing in lime juice, salt, and pepper to taste.
  4. Once the patties are cooked, place sliced jalapeños on top and cover the skillet for an additional 2 minutes to warm them through.
  5. Toast the whole wheat burger buns in the skillet until golden brown.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a patty, a slice of tomato, and a generous dollop of avocado sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy your spicy jalapeño burgers!
