Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 400 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Maple syrup - 1 tablespoon
  • Sriracha - 1 tablespoon
  • Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cayenne pepper - 1/4 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
  • Fresh cilantro - for garnish

Steps

  1. Press the tofu for about 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1.5 cm thick slices.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the olive oil, soy sauce, maple syrup, Sriracha, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper until well combined.
  3. Place the sliced tofu in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it, ensuring each piece is coated. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  4. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.
  5. Carefully place the marinated tofu slices on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until grill marks appear and the tofu is heated through.
  6. Remove the tofu from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh cilantro.
