Ingredients
- Edamame (in pods) - 200 grams
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Red chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish)
Steps
- In a medium pot, bring water to a boil and add a pinch of salt. Add the edamame pods and cook for 5 minutes until tender but still vibrant green.
- Drain the edamame and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process. Set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil and sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Stir in the red chili flakes and sauté for an additional 30 seconds.
- Add the cooked edamame to the skillet. Pour in the soy sauce and toss everything together until the edamame is evenly coated and heated through, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat, season with additional salt if needed, and transfer to a serving bowl. Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
