Ingredients

  • Carrots - 4 medium (about 300g)
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons (30ml)
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon (2g)
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon (2g)
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon (1g)
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon (3g)
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon (0.5g)
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped (8g)
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon (15ml)

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Wash and peel the carrots, then cut them into sticks about 1 cm thick.
  3. In a large bowl, combine olive oil, ground cumin, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Add the carrot sticks to the bowl and toss well to coat them evenly with the spice mixture.
  5. Spread the spiced carrot sticks in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the carrots are tender and slightly caramelized, turning them halfway through.
  7. Remove from the oven and drizzle with fresh lemon juice.
  8. Sprinkle chopped parsley over the baked carrot sticks before serving.
