  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cayenne pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Apple cider vinegar - 2 tablespoons
  • Sugar-free ketchup - 100 grams
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Liquid smoke - 1 teaspoon
  • Mustard - 1 teaspoon
  • Water - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. Press the tofu to remove excess moisture for about 15 minutes.
  2. While the tofu is pressing, mix together paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl.
  3. Once pressed, cut the tofu into 1-inch thick slices and coat them with olive oil and the spice mixture.
  4. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat.
  5. Grill the tofu slices for about 5-7 minutes on each side until they have nice grill marks and are heated through.
  6. In a separate bowl, combine the apple cider vinegar, sugar-free ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, mustard, and water to make the BBQ sauce.
  7. In the last few minutes of grilling, brush the BBQ sauce over the tofu slices, allowing it to caramelize slightly.
  8. Serve the BBQ tofu hot, garnished with additional sauce if desired.
