Ingredients

  • Chicken thighs - 500 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cayenne pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Apple cider vinegar - 2 tablespoons
  • Honey - 2 tablespoons
  • Ketchup - 100 grams
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Mustard - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper to create a marinade.
  2. Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. While the chicken is marinating, prepare the barbecue sauce by combining apple cider vinegar, honey, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard in a small saucepan.
  4. Simmer the sauce over low heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens slightly.
  5. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  6. Remove the chicken from the marinade and place it on the grill. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 75°C (165°F).
  7. During the last few minutes of grilling, brush the chicken with the barbecue sauce.
  8. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving. Serve with extra barbecue sauce on the side.
