- Canned navy beans - 400 grams
- Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Liquid smoke - 1/2 teaspoon
- BBQ sauce - 100 grams
- Onion - 1 medium, diced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Mustard (yellow) - 1 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Water - 100 milliliters
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a medium skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- In a large bowl, combine the navy beans, sautéed onion and garlic, smoked paprika, liquid smoke, BBQ sauce, brown sugar, mustard, salt, black pepper, and water. Mix well.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
