- Smoked paprika - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Apple cider vinegar - 2 tablespoons
- Water - 1 liter
Steps
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, and apple cider vinegar to create a marinade.
- Rub the marinade all over the turkey legs, ensuring they are evenly coated. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
- Preheat your smoker to 120°C (250°F). If you don’t have a smoker, you can set your grill to indirect heat.
- Once preheated, place the marinated turkey legs on the smoker or grill, and smoke for about 2 to 2.5 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 75°C (165°F).
- During the last 30 minutes of smoking, periodically baste the turkey legs with leftover marinade to enhance the flavor.
- Remove the turkey legs from the smoker and let them rest for 10 minutes before serving.
