Ingredients

  • Turkey breast - 500 grams

  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Applewood chips - 1 cup (for smoking)
  • Chicken broth - 100 ml (for moisture)

Steps

  1. In a small bowl, combine smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper to create the spice rub.
  2. Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels and rub it all over with olive oil.
  3. Generously apply the spice rub to the turkey breast, ensuring it is well-coated.
  4. Wrap the seasoned turkey in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.
  5. Soak applewood chips in water for 30 minutes before smoking.
  6. Preheat your smoker to a temperature of 110°C (225°F).
  7. Place the soaked applewood chips in the smoker box or directly on the coals.
  8. Remove the turkey from the refrigerator and place it on the smoker grate.
  9. Pour chicken broth into a drip pan and place it under the turkey to keep it moist during smoking.
  10. Smoke the turkey breast for about 2 to 2.5 hours or until it reaches an internal temperature of 74°C (165°F).
  11. Once done, remove the turkey from the smoker and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
