Steps
- In a small bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F).
- Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out to fit a baking sheet or pizza stone.
- Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then layer the sliced red bell pepper, zucchini, red onion, and black olives on top.
- Sprinkle dried oregano over the vegetables and cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- Remove from the oven, let it cool slightly, then garnish with fresh basil leaves before slicing and serving.
