- Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Fresh basil - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Mozzarella cheese - 100 grams, shredded
- Parmesan cheese - 30 grams, grated
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F).
- In a medium saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat and add the minced garlic, sautéing until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper to the saucepan. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Roll out the whole wheat pizza dough on a floured surface to fit a 9-inch (23 cm) square baking pan.
- Transfer the rolled dough to the baking pan, pressing it into the corners and up the sides.
- Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough.
- Sprinkle the chopped fresh basil over the sauce, followed by the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
