Ingredients

  • all-purpose flour - 100 grams
  • sesame seeds - 50 grams
  • granulated sugar - 50 grams
  • unsalted butter - 50 grams, softened
  • egg - 1 large
  • vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • salt - 1/4 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, mixing well until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and sesame seeds.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  6. Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 5 cm apart.
  7. Flatten each ball slightly with the palm of your hand.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
