Ingredients

  • Fresh scallops - 300 grams
  • Unsalted butter - 50 grams
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Rinse the scallops under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Season the scallops with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  4. Add the scallops to the skillet, making sure not to overcrowd them. Sear for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and opaque in the center. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium, add the butter and let it melt.
  6. Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  7. Stir in the lemon juice and chopped parsley, mixing well.
  8. Return the scallops to the skillet, gently coating them with the garlic butter sauce.
  9. Serve immediately, drizzling any remaining garlic butter over the scallops.
